Creative Adventure Lab, located in Dubuque, recently had the opportunity to welcome a whole new audience during the 2025 DockDogs World Championship, and to showcase how nonprofits can play an essential role in strengthening local tourism. As part of the championship festivities, Creative Adventure Lab hosted the official Youth Night for the event’s talented Youth Handlers, offering them a one-of-a-kind evening of creativity, play, and exploration.

During their visit, Youth Handlers enjoyed a full lineup of Creative Adventure Lab’s hands-on experiences, including pottery painting, rock climbing, and open-ended play in the Play Labs. Kids jumped from activity to activity, tapping into their creativity and building confidence before returning to their competitions. For many of the families in attendance, it was their first time visiting Creative Adventure Lab, and an exciting introduction to the fun, family-friendly amenities available to those who visit Dubuque.
By partnering with a major international event like DockDogs, Creative Adventure Lab not only supported participants with an unforgettable experience but also contributed to the overall hospitality and appeal of the community. This collaboration demonstrated the important role nonprofits can play in elevating tourism, offering meaningful activities that complement large events and enhance the visitor experience. For Creative Adventure Lab, the night provided valuable exposure and a chance to highlight the creativity, adventure, and innovation that make Dubuque such a vibrant destination.
