Targeted Outcome
Task Forces
One of the ways the Iowa Nonprofit Alliance creates value for Iowa's nonprofit sector is by convening talented stakeholders around key issue or action areas, with the goal of generating actionable insights to foster positive change.
Call for Task Force Topics
Each year, we invite Iowa Nonprofit Alliance members to submit ideas for the topics or issues that our task forces should address. Suggested topics should meet most or all of the following criteria.
Widespread
Actionable
There should be at least some reasonable belief that the topic can be improved through collective consideration.
Timely
Topics should be relevant to the current moment. Task forces usually only convene for a few months before making recommendations.

Example Topic Ideas
Some example topic ideas that meet most or all of the above criteria include employer health insurance solutions, better funder practices, public perception challenges, etc.
Task Force Participation
Once this year's topics have been chosen, we invite stakeholders to participate in a task force. Each task force will convene virtually, set goals, determine how to best address the topic, and ultimately create outcomes that help the sector address the issue. Outcomes could include a set of best practices, toolkits, policy recommendations, or other "products" the task force deems useful to the sector.
We anticipate opening task force applications in April/May 2026.
