About the event
Leaders have plenty of strategies available when performance starts to slip: training, communication, accountability, technology, process improvement, engagement efforts, wellness initiatives, and more. But those are interventions. Before choosing one, leaders need to understand the conditions in which people are being asked to perform.
In this interactive webinar, participants will explore six workplace conditions that can either support strong performance or quietly get in the way: Shared Capacity, Skill Readiness, Peer Norms, System Cues, Tool Support, and Mindset Alignment.
Using a practical nonprofit example, participants will see how the same visible performance problem can have very different underlying causes—and why choosing a solution too quickly can waste time, energy, and limited resources. Participants will then use a rapid diagnostic to examine one real challenge from their own organization and identify where they may need more evidence before deciding what to do next.
The goal is not to add another leadership strategy. It is to help leaders make better decisions about the strategies they already use by understanding what is happening underneath the performance problem.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
Recognize six workplace conditions that can influence employee and volunteer performance.
Apply a rapid diagnostic to one current performance challenge.
Identify what they need to investigate before choosing a solution.
